- Carpets are thoroughly vacuumed using a high powered commercial vacuum cleaner to remove all loose dry dirt.
- Edges are checked for draught marks and treated where necessary, spots and stains treated.
NOTE: All stains are not removable. Certain products such as tanning lotions, paint etc permanently dye the carpet fibres. Also the longer a stain is left, the more likely is it to become permanent.
- A prespray solution is sprayed on the carpet and worked into the carpet fibres using a brush machine which breaks down the dirt in the carpet.
- The carpets are then thoroughly rinsed with clean deodorised water using our powerful hot water extraction system.
- Carpets can then be treated with a Stain Shield Teflon if desired. Prices available on request.
- Carpets are brushed with a pile brush to realign the pile.
Tips
- Always ask for a written quote and do not take prices over the phone. It is always a good idea to meet the people you are going to allow into your house and work on your carpets.
- If a cleaner has quoted blind, there is the possibility that if he has under quoted he will take short cuts to make up time.
- Beware of companies offering 50% discounts, and the like. Bottom line, you get what you pay for.
- Beware companies with only a mobile number or the “we’re in your area’ type. If things go wrong you are unlikely to see them again.
Stain Removal
- Always treat a stain as soon as possible. Use a white paper towel to soak up as much as possible. If necessary spray cold water on the stain and continue to soak up until there is no more of the stain lifting onto the towel.
NOTE: We sell very good general purpose stain removal products that are safe for home use. Most stains can be removed if tackled immediately.
- If a stain persists, contact your local carpet cleaner as soon as possible as we have the equipment to remove most stains. Do not leave stains untreated.
- Once a stain is set it is permanent.
- Do not scrub stains as you risk damaging the pile. Sometimes it may be necessary to gently agitate but never be aggressive.
- It is not a good idea to use foam based or detergent products as they leave a residue which unless extracted by a proper machine will attract dirt to your carpet.
